Turkish Technology Entrepreneurs Come Together at London Tech Week

Turkish technology entrepreneurs came together at Academia Park at the London Tech Week organised in the UK. While 14 entrepreneurs who met under the auspices of Academia Park made presentations on their projects, important issues such as how Turkish entrepreneurs will open up to the London market were also discussed in the sessions organised.

Academia Park, established in London for Turkish technology and IT companies, brought together Turkish entrepreneurs within the scope of London Tech Week. Academia Park, located at the centre of London's thriving technology ecosystem, acts as a bridge for local startups to increase their activities in the international market. Orhan Tanışman, General Manager of YTU Yıldız Technopark, and İsa Turgut İnci, Deputy General Manager, took part in the "State of Technoparks in Turkey" and "Venture Capital and the Situation in Silicon Valley" sessions organised by Academia Park at London Tech Week.

The first session, moderated by Ata Ergüder, Co-Founder and CEO of Academia Park, featured Baran Kılıçer, Director of International Relations and Investor Relations at YTÜ Yıldız Teknopark. Kılıçer discussed collaborations with Academia Park and noted the significant steps being planned to help Turkish entrepreneurs enter the UK market and connect with investors. The second session included key figures from the Turkish entrepreneurial ecosystem discussing investments. Kevin Holmes, founder of the San Francisco-based Founders Network, provided insights on investor potential and funding opportunities.

Academia Park Co-Founder and CEO Ata Ergüder, who directed the first Turkish startups to participate in programs in London with the return of Academia Park, said that the larger ones will organize programs to enable them to increase their sales. Ergüder also noted that London is the largest market for technology companies after Silicon Valley and that $30 billion worth of investments were made in this field last year; “We established Academia Park to accelerate the development and growth of Turkish entrepreneurs in London. Market entry programs were prepared in London for startups from Turkey. We want to do bridge work with technoparks and create a success story for Turkish startups. "Similarly, we aim to bring foreign currency and employment to Turkey and for Turkish companies to expand to the world by investing here," he said.

On the other hand, Ergüder stated that 34 startup companies seeking investment within the Technopark will initially participate in Academia Park programs and seek investment, and that this number may reach 100 in the next period.
