Ümit ÖNAL

Ümit Önal, who graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, started his professional career in the media and communication sector. He joined Turkuvaz Media Group in 2007 and worked as the General Manager, Advertising Group President and Executive Board Member of ATV, respectively, until 2015. After serving as Board Member and General Manager of Digiturk in 2015, he managed the sales process to BeIN Media Group within Digiturk. Joining the Türk Telekom family as Assistant General Manager responsible for Sales and Customer Services at the end of 2016, Önal was appointed as Deputy General Manager responsible for Marketing and Customer Services in December 2018, and as the CEO of the company in August 2019. He still acts as the Acting Deputy General Manager responsible for Marketing and Customer Services. With over 20 years of experience in the media and communication sector, Önal has made significant contributions to the radical change process of the Turkish media and continues to lead Turkey's digital and technological transformation within Türk Telekom. He has been actively involved in national and international associations throughout his career. Önal, who served as the Chairman of the Board of m-TOD (Mobile Telecommunication Operators Association) in 2020, is still actively the Chairman of the Board of TİAK A.Ş (Television Monitoring and Research Committee), a Member of the Board of Directors of RVD (Association of Advertisers), a member of YASED (International Investors Association) and DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) America Business Council Member.He also represents Türk Telekom at TVYD (Television Broadcasters Association).
