Prof. Dr. Tamer YILMAZ

Prof. Dr. TAMER YILMAZ was born in Istanbul, 1970.

He graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Shipbuilding Engineering Department in 1991, completed his master's degree in Belgium Von Karman Institute, and completed his PhD in Aeronautical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University between 1993-1998.

He worked at Yıldız Technical University as Vice Rector, Director of Science Institute, Scientific Research Projects Coordinator, Technopark Board Member, Technology Transfer Office and USA/Silicon Valley StarCamp Incubation Center Founder and Manager between 2008-2013.

Having served as the President of Türk Loydu between 2011-2013, Prof. Yılmaz is the member of TOBB Turkey Defense Industry and Turkish Maritime Assembly, he was the Chairman of the Chamber of Shipping Experts and Surveyors Professional Committee. 

He has been a Member of the Board of NUN Schools since 2017.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Yılmaz served as the Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University between 2013-2018.

Prof. Yılmaz is a TEDx speaker and has been serving as YTU Rector since August 2020.
